UACCM To Offer Two-Day Auto Painting Workshop In June

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will offer a two-day “Artistic Auto Painting” workshop from June 14-15. Registration for this event is $25 and is only available to participants ages 16 and above.   Combine an artistic talent and interest in collision repair in this hands-on workshop for beginners. This event will be led by UACCM Collision Repair & Refinishing Instructor Keith McKnight, who will guide participants through two complete projects, which can be brought home after the second day. No previous experience is required to register for this event. Each day runs from 8-11:30 a.m. Participants can register online at www.uaccm.edu/workforce , but must do so by May 24. Annual 'Links for Learning' Golf Tournament Set For May 23

The 12th Annual “Links for Learning” golf tournament will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at the Morrilton Country Club beginning with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The three-person scramble is sponsored by the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation. Proceeds from the tournament support UACCM’s special programs and services. Community members can be involved in this event by entering the tournament as players, or by donating door prizes and promotional items as sponsors. The entry fee for each three-person team is $300, which includes registration with two mulligans per player, carts, lunch, goody bags, and prizes. Sponsors can promote their businesses by donating door prizes that will be given out during drawings throughout the day. Dates Set for Spring 2017 Graduation Ceremonies

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will hold four graduation ceremonies for its spring 2017 graduates beginning Thursday, May 11. All ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on campus, followed by a reception in the Student Union where families may take pictures and meet with UACCM’s faculty and staff. FSSF Awards $20,000 In Scholarships at Annual Bass Tournament

The Fayetteville Shale Scholarship Fund awarded $20,000 in scholarships to high school students who participated in the 10th Annual FSSF Bass Tournament at Greers Ferry Lake on April 22. A total of 74 boats went out on the water, with 65 adults and nine high school students competing.   Cole Lamb and Tristan Weaver, both students at Melbourne High School, received the first place $4,000 Angler’s Scholarship. Dylan Watson and Kory England, both students at Spring Hill High School in Hope, received the second place $3,000 Angler’s Scholarship. The third place scholarship, worth $2,000, was given to Chase Richardson of Paragould High School and Cameron Rhoades of East Poinsett County High School in Lepanto. The FSSF also awarded two $1,000 Community Enrichment Scholarships to Grady Inzer and Austin Hewett, both students at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. UACCM Takes Home Gold, Other Awards at SkillsUSA

Six students from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton took home awards after the 2017 Arkansas SkillsUSA State Conference in Hot Springs on April 12, including two gold medals earned by students Austin Thomas of Vilonia and Jarred Charton of Morrilton. 'Career Explorations' Events Returning In June

For the third consecutive year, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will host two free “Career Exploration” events in June for students who have completed the 8th through 12th grades. The first two-day event is from June 12-13, which must be filled to capacity before the second event from June 14-15 will be open for registration. Each day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a skyrocketing demand for people with career-specific skills training. Join UACCM faculty and staff on this two-day journey where students can explore several exciting possibilities for their futures. Students will gain hands-on experience and leave with a better understanding of various career fields, along with the skills they require. UACCM's 2017 Kids College To Start June 5

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s 2017 Kids College is now open for enrollment. From Monday, June 5, to Thursday, June 8, your child will venture under the sea to explore the world’s oceans and all of the incredible creatures that inhabit them. Children entering first through fourth grades in August can participate in this four-day adventure filled with creation, imagination, education, and fun. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission will also display its large mobile aquarium, featuring native fish and turtles, on the last day. Classes will run from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting in Kirk Building 116, so be sure your child brings a sack lunch and an afternoon snack. There are a limited number of openings, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost to attend is $75 per child. To enroll a child, go to www.uaccm.edu/workforce .
