UACCM TO SHOW ‘BIG HERO 6’ FOR FREE MOVIE NIGHT

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton announces this year’s first “Starlight Cinema,” a free community movie night. The event will feature “Big Hero 6” Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the UACCM campus. For this feature, UACCM is partnering with Community Service, Inc. to host a special smoke-free movie event.  In an effort to promote health and wellness, this unique event features a movie that depicts no use of tobacco products, a practice that is commonly shown on the silver screen.  Community Service Tobacco Prevention Coordinator Shannon Cook will be on-site with a display of literature and educational aids depicting the harmful effects of tobacco-use.  Prior to show time, ads created by Arkansas students through the Big Pitch Film Festival will be shown. Two slots open at the Earle Love Child Study Center

The Earle Love Child Study Center is currently accepting applications for two slots in the toddler classroom for children ages 12-36 months.  Tuition is $125 per week.  One slot will be available May 11, and one slot will be available June 1.  For more information about these openings or to obtain an application, contact ELCSC Director Adrianne Crow by calling 501-977-2018 or emailing crow@uaccm.edu.

FOR ADULTS LOOKING FOR CAREER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Participants will rotate through all of the following programs of study during this FREE workshop: Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration-  Learn how to properly read, review, and draw a schematic before demonstrating your wiring skills on a practice board. Automotive Collision Repair-  By experimenting with mixing ratios and toners, you will discover how to create an automotive color. Automotive Service Technology-  While building a remote control car, you will experiment with basic parts replacement and learn about ratios used in transmissions.
