Fall Registration Begins August 15

Regular registration for the fall 2007 semester at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will begin on Wednesday, August 15, 2007. All new and returning students who did not pre-register should plan to register according to the alphabetical schedule below:   Students whose last names begin with the letters H through M may register from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, August 15. The alphabetical schedule continues throughout the day on Wednesday, August 15 with students whose last names begin with the letters N through T registering from noon to 4:00 p.m., and students whose last names begin with the letters H through T registering from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Registration will continue on Thursday, August 16 with students whose last names begin with the letters U through Z and A through B registering from 8:00 a.m. to noon and last names C through F from noon to 4:00 p.m. An open registration for all students will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Augu

George Kress Foundation Pledges $60,000 to School Counts!

The George Kress Foundation Inc. announced Monday it will donate $20,000 per year for three years to the UACCM SCHOOL COUNTS! SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND.  Mr. George F. Faculty and Staff Members Receive Outstanding Student Awards

Two members of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton faculty and staff received awards for outstanding academic achievements recently.  Danny Gifford, Air Conditioning,  Heating, and Refrigeration Technology instructor at UACCM, receives the “Outstanding Senior 2006-2007” award from the UALR Donaghey College of Information  Science and Systems Engineering  in the department of Engineering Technology. Danny Gifford, Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology instructor at UACCM, received the “Outstanding Senior 2006-2007” award from the UALR Donaghey College of Information Science and Systems Engineering in the department of Engineering Technology. Gifford is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in electronics and computer engineering technology at UALR. PTK Spring 2007 Induction

The Beta Eta Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton recently inducted 14 new members during a ceremony in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium. New members inducted include Sheila Barr of Oppelo, Dustin Burdin of Damascus, Julie Birkheart of Morrilton, Cassandra Cooper of Conway, Cassidy Garrett of Greenbrier, Aaron Horton of Russellville, Bradley Nelson of Dover, Mandy Patrick of Greenbrier, Stephen Pryor of Conway, William Pryor of Conway, Kurt Reed of Dardanelle, Mina Shewmake of Morrilton, Katherine Simmons of Conway, and Crystal Thatcher of Scotland.   Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is a prestigious international honor society for two-year colleges. PBL Students Attend Conferences

Seven UACCM students recently attended the Phi Beta Lambda Spring Leadership Conference in Hot Springs.  They joined more than 350 college students from over 20 two-year and four-year colleges and universities who gathered to network, attend seminars, and participate in business-related competitions. Several UACCM students placed in their competitions. Students who placed include: Samantha Bean –  1st place, Business Math Denise Wells –  1st place, Machine Transcription; 2nd place, Word Processing Marty McCoy –  5th place, Business Ethics & Etiquette Ann Wilson –  5th place, Accounting for Professionals Charlotte Noakes –  5th place, Marketing Concepts The Word Processing competition of the conference is a national event. UACCM Joins The Arkansas Career Pathways Initiative

The Arkansas Career Pathways Initiative is a new program available at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton that enables two-year colleges to assist qualified students with career training and classes and help them overcome the barriers that have kept them from getting the education and training they need.  The Career Pathways program can provide eligible students with Adult Education and Employability Skills classes, as well as short-term certificate and two-year degree programs. Additionally, students may be offered childcare and transportation assistance, tutoring services, and career counseling and placement opportunities.  The new program will provide students with the support they need to succeed in their education through the efforts of the program staff. The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton held its commencement exercises on Saturday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. in the H.B. White Auditorium on the Morrilton High School campus. Spring 2007 Chancellor's Scholars and Academic Honors Announced

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton has announced the Chancellor’s Scholars and Academic Honors lists for the spring 2007 semester.  The Chancellor’s Scholars list is comprised of full-time students who completed at least 12 college-level credit hours with a 4.00 grade point average.
