The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton invites the community to its Night of Luminaries, Thursday, Dec. 2, following the Morrilton Christmas parade. This free, family-friendly event is expected to start around 6:00 p.m. or as soon as Santa Claus can make his way from the parade to UACCM. The campus will be lined with more than 2,000 luminary bags, decorated by Conway County children, and the community is invited to walk through to view the artwork on the beautifully lit bags. Also enjoy cookies and hot cocoa served by UACCM faculty and staff to all who attend the event.  Participating schools and organizations that helped in decorating luminary bags include Conway County Center for Exceptional Children, Morrilton Primary, Morrilton Elementary, Morrilton Intermediate, Nemo Vista Elementary, Sacred Heart Elementary, Wonderview Elementary, and Riverview Baptist Christian School. UACCM will host its annual Night of Luminaries Thursday, Dec. 6, immediately following the Morrilton Christmas parade. The streets throughout campus will be lined with luminary bags decorated by students from all Conway County schools. The free event is open to the community. Santa will be at the Plaza courtyard for pictures. He will also give out gifts to all children. Refreshments including cookies, hot cocoa, and cider will be served as well.
