Students Honored at 2024 Student Recognition Awards Ceremony

The year's most outstanding students at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton were honored at the Student Recognition Awards Ceremony, an annual gathering of faculty, staff, and families joining students to celebrate their accomplishments. Every department nominates students to receive awards based on academic excellence in their field of study. Awards are also given from the UACCM Student Activities, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and other student organizations to outstanding students for their engagement at the college community and organization. A student ambassador is also selected as Ambassador of the Year. During the ceremony, a representative from each department presents the award to the student, while comments about their achievements written by faculty and staff are read aloud.  The photo album of the event can be found here: Those recognized are as follows: COMMUNITY EDUCATION Department of Adult Education O

UACCM Breaks Ground on Commemorative Clock Tower

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) broke ground on a new commemorative clock tower for the campus. The clock tower will stand tall on the west campus between the University Center and Student Union. The tower will be 45-feet-tall, making it visible not only throughout campus, but also from many parts of the city and I-40.  The base of the tower includes three steps with the institution’s previous names etched in the steps, including Petit Jean Vo-Tech, Petit Jean Technical College, and Petit Jean College. The college’s current name, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton, will be displayed near the top of the tower. The top of the tower was designed to reflect and complement the design of the University Center and Library Complex.  The area around the base will include brick pavers with a short inscription selected by donors etched into each brick. Cornerstone plaques of various sizes of brick pavers are also available for naming oppo

Congratulations to UACCM's April Student of the Month, Keyana Lasker! Keyana is in her fourth semester, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems degree. She is a nontraditional student who returned to college after five years to better her future for herself and her children. After graduation, Keyana plans to transfer to UCA to pursue a bachelor's degree.  Her favorite things about UACCM include the welcoming environment, Student Activities, and events on campus. She has been a member of the UACCM Student Activities Board for the past two semesters and suggests all current and future Timberwolves get involved with events and clubs on campus.  Throughout March, the UACCM Student Success Center reviewed nominations from faculty and staff regarding who they feel should be selected as student of the month.
