UACCM Foundation Receives Entergy Charitable Foundation Grant

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation’s “Give Meaning” campaign was awarded a $10,000 grant by the Entergy Charitable Foundation.  Grant funds will be used to support the new Workforce Training Center at UACCM, as well as scholarships and academic programs. The award is part of the Entergy Charitable Foundation’s grant program whose goal is to support initiatives that help create and sustain thriving communities. ECF has a special focus on low-income initiatives, as well as educational and literacy programs. The estimated 58,000-square-feet Workforce Training Center at UACCM will house many of the college’s existing technical programs including automotive service technology; welding; industrial mechanics and maintenance technology; and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology.  In addition to technical programs, an open space for workforce training will be included in the facility for use in recruiting new industry to the area, as w

UACCM Announces Beginning of 2016 Starlight Cinema

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton has partnered with the City of Morrilton for the first Starlight Cinema of 2016.  All are invited to bring the family and lawn chairs to watch The Good Dinosaur on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the City of Morrilton Nature Trail.  The movie begins at sundown and free hot dogs will be provided while supplies last.  The sponsor for this family movie is Lonoke Baptist Church. UACCM Workforce Training Center Groundbreaking

The University of Arkansas Community College in Morrilton will break ground on the new Workforce Training Center on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  The groundbreaking will take place at 112 Timberwolf Drive, in the west parking lot of the University Center.  All are invited to attend and asked to park in the lots south and north of the University Center.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Fine Arts Auditorium. This groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of construction on the facility. The Workforce Training Center is expected to be completed in 18-24 months after construction begins.  It will allow for the expansion of technical and community education, specialized industry training and certification courses, and pre-employment training academies. These programs have the potential to serve approximately 3,000 unique individuals in the first year. The facility is being funded through the UACCM Foundation’s Give Meaning Campaign.   UACCM
