UACCM Holds Fall Commencement Exerises

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton held its commencement exercises on Friday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the H.B. White Auditorium on the Morrilton High School campus. There were 116 candidates for graduation.   Linda Zambrano, a business instructor at UACCM, was the graduation speaker. Zambrano was selected as the recipient of the 2005 Postsecondary Teacher of the Year Award from the Southern Business Education Association (SBEA), one of five regional divisions of the National Business Education Association (NBEA).  She also received the 2004 Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award at UACCM. UACCM graduate Deborah Diaz was recognized as the college’s 2005 Academic All-Star. Diaz graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in general education. She was selected as the college’s Academic All-Star based on her academic achievements, leadership ability, academic honors, community service, recommendation letters, essay and interview. UACCM To Offer Free Child Care Training in Russellville

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will offer a free child care training program in the community room of the Russellville Police Department beginning Thursday, February 2.  The program, entitled  Arkansas Early Childhood Education (AECE) Framework Handbook for Three and Four Year Old Children , is designed to prepare early childhood professionals in the use of the AECE Framework Handbook.  The training is recommended and accepted as approved training by the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.   The class, taught by Susan Lynch, consists of 15 total hours and will meet for five evenings. A certificate and Continuing Education Unit will be awarded at the end of the program.
