Chancellor Dr. Larry Davis received a plaque from Morrilton Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer and Conway County Judge Jimmy Hart, noting the proclamation of Dr. Larry Davis Day. The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton held a retirement reception for Chancellor Dr. Larry Davis at the Workforce Training Center. An estimated 300 people attended, including elected officials and leaders of Arkansas higher education, to offer their best wishes to Chancellor Davis.  Effective January 31, 2019, Chancellor Davis will retire after almost nine years of leadership at UACCM. University of Arkansas System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt has named Diana Arn interim chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Arn, currently the vice chancellor for academic services, will take over for Dr. Larry Davis, upon his retirement effective January 31.  “As UACCM prepares to embark on the search for a new chancellor, the faculty and staff at UACCM will continue their high standard of service,” Arn said. “Our spring semester is scheduled to begin January 14, and we are busy enrolling students in credit classes that will lead to skills used to join the workforce upon graduation or skills needed to transfer to a four-year institution and be successful.”    Dr. Bobbitt made the announcement in a letter to UACCM staff, students, and the community. “UACCM has made great progress during the tenure of Dr. Davis’ chancellorship, and I am positive that Ms. Arn will continue this upward trajectory,” Bobbitt said.  Vice ...

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) invites the public to attend a retirement reception honoring Chancellor Larry Davis on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Workforce Training Center, Tyson Hall A, at 1537 University Blvd. on the UACCM campus. Chancellor Davis will retire effective January 31, 2019, after serving in that role since 2010. Prior to his appointment as chancellor at UACCM, Davis had a 31 year career at OSU-Okmulgee followed by serving six years at ASU-Newport as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. During his tenure at UACCM, he guided the college through its North Central Association accreditation, and oversaw the creation of several new programs that met the demand of industry including commercial driver training and industrial mechanics and maintenance.
