Third Annual Madrigal Feaste, Nov. 29, 30, and Dec. 1

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Music and Theatre Departments will present their third annual Madrigal Feaste.   Performances are Nov. 29, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the UACCM Plaza.   Doors open at 6:00 each evening and shows begin at 6:30. The feaste will include a meal of smoked chicken, roasted potatoes, steamed broccoli, fresh baked rolls and rum raisin bread pudding.   Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance.   Tickets are available at the student accounts window of the C. Nathan Crook University Center on the UACCM campus. The UACCM Theater Department is making final preparations for it's first spring musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," scheduled for April 23-26 in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium (see after the cast for more info). Jazz, Blues, and Swing...For FREE!

Shirley Chauvin of Hot Springs and her six-piece little big band “S’Wonderful” will swing into UACCM for a free concert on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 pm in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The community is invited to attend, which will feature a wide variety of songs performed originally by the great big band vocalists of the 1950s through 1970s including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, and others. Chauvin was a vocal major at North Texas University in Denton, Texas, with an emphasis in jazz music studies and she has toured the south and mid-west with Buddy Morrow, Les Elgart, Charlie Barnett, Paul Neighbors and others. She managed her own Jazz Fusion and Swing Ensembles in Texas and was the opening act at the “Summertop” series in Dallas for Dionne Warrick, John Davidson and Mel Torme. "You're a Good Man" Cast Announced

The UACCM Theatre Department has announced the cast for its upcoming musical production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown . The cast includes several area residents whose names, characters, and hometowns are listed below: Amber Addley of Conway—Lucy Van Pelt Brad Bergdoff of Clinton—Charlie Brown Tabatha Duvall of Russellville—Ensemble Catie Hubbard of Houston—Ensemble Shawn Huff of Morrilton—Linus Van Pelt Kaitlyn Neal of Mayflower—Sally Brown Devin Pettinger of Perryville—Ensemble Justin Pike of Morrilton—Schroeder Jace Stephens of Damascus—Snoopy Kendra Thomas of Conway—Ensemble Stephanie Yancey of Springfield—Ensemble The cast has already begun rehearsals in preparation for UACCM’s first musical production, scheduled for April 23, 24, and 25 at 7:30 pm and April 26 at 2:30 pm. For all you dramatic guys and gals out there, the UACCM theatre department will produce its first spring musical, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown , to be performed in the Fine Arts Auditorium on April 23, 24, 25, and 26. Based on Charles Schultz’s “Peanuts” characters, this award-winning musical is created from little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown. Interested in performing? Stop by the general audition on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 6:00 pm in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium. Auditions are open to the community, and no prior experience is necessary. Be sure to be prepared to sing a simple song of their choice (Happy Birthday, Mary Had a Little Lamb, etc.) in front of several people! Readings from the script will be assigned at the audition.
