Beverly Parks Memorial Scholarship

$500 Scholarship for Fall 2012 with possible renewal opportunity Eligibility Requirements: · Business Office Technology major · Previously completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of classes with a BUS, FIN, or ACCT prefix · Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA · Full-time student · Recommendation letters from two Department of Business instructors who have taught the applicant in at least one class with a BUS, FIN, or ACCT prefix · Student cannot receive other financial aid or scholarships (excluding loans) in excess of the total amount needed for books, tuition, and fees Applicants should complete a UACCM scholarship application and indicate Beverly Parks Memorial Scholarship on the application. Deadline: June 15, 2012

Songs of the 60s

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Jazz Ensemble SoundScape presents “Songs of the 60’s” on May 3 & 4 at 7:00pm in the UACCM Plaza . Attendees will be treated to a wonderful evening with musical performances of many of the popular hits from the 1960’s including “Stand By Me,” “California Dreamin’,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “My Girl,” and more. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the UACCM University Center Cashier's Window. Tickets will also be available at the door. Counseling Services Summer Hours

Counseling, Disability, and Career & Transfer Services will be open during the summer break. This is a great chance for students and faculty to take advantage of these (free) services. Counseling and Disability services are located in BTC #204. The new Career & Transfer Center is located in BTC #201 & 202 (across from Academic Advising). Summer hours are: M-Th. 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, closed on Friday. Please call 501-977-2095 to schedule an appointment with Ms. Staci Duvall (Therapist), Ms. Lynn Baker (Disability Counselor), or Ms. Rose Morton (Career & Transfer Coordinator).

James W. Pettry Memorial Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of Pat Pettry (Academic Achievement Instructor) the following scholarship is now available to our students.  James W. Pettry Memorial Scholarship One year scholarship up to $1000 per semester (Funds must be applied towards tuition, fees, and books) Applications are now available to apply for the James W. Pettry Memorial Scholarship for the Fall 2012 semester. This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time, UACCM student pursuing a two-year program in a technical area (preference given to an Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology major student). Applicants must be in their 2nd year of their program of study. One letter of recommendation is required from a former instructor. Preference will be given to students NOT receiving other UACCM academic scholarships. Attention all fans of golf and MONEY! The seventh annual Links for Learning Golf Tournament fundraiser for the UACCM Foundation is coming up on Thursday, May 10 at the Morrilton Country Club (MCC). Even if you are unable to attend the tournament this year, you will still be able to get in on the action and win up to $1000 by purchasing a chance in the golf ball drop! Read on to find out more... During the golf ball drop, hundreds (hopefully) of golf balls will be hoisted in the air via buckettruck and will be dropped above the practice green MCC. Each numbered golf ball will coincide with a ticket bought by YOU, and the ball that lands in the hole or closest to the pin will win half of the fundraiser proceeds, up to $1000! The Drowsy Chaperone

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Theatre and Music Departments will take audiences on a musical journey to the decadent world of the 1920’s with the performance of the five-time, Tony Award-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. This hysterical musical comedy, written by Bob Martin and Don Mckellar with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 12-14 and April 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium, 1537 University Blvd. in Morrilton.
