Lieutenant Governor Halter to Speak at Commencement
Arkansas’ 14th Lieutenant Governor, Bill Halter, will deliver the commencement address during the spring 2008 graduation ceremony for the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 am in the H.B. White Auditorium on the Morrilton High School campus. Arkansas voters elected Halter to a four-year term as Lieutenant Governor on November 7, 2006. He has served as an economic adviser to the President of the United States and to the U.S. Senate, managed the Social Security Administration, advised Fortune 500 companies, and served on the boards of directors of information technology and life sciences companies. President Bill Clinton appointed Halter as Deputy Commissioner of Social Security in 1999. Later, he served as Acting Commissioner of Social Security, managing 65,000 employees in 1,500 offices.
