Officials from Conway School District and the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) gathered in the James H. Clark Auditorium on Thursday, September 19 for an announcement and formal signing to solidify the new partnership between Conway School District and UACCM.  The partnership provides Conway High School students in various career and technical education (CTE) programs through Conway Area Career Center (CACC) the ability to earn a Certificate of Proficiency in those programs at no cost.  The ceremony featured remarks from both institutions, including a welcome from Conway High School Principal Dr. Kate Worley. Conway School District Superintendent Dr. Jeff Collum spoke of the partnership helping “close the opportunity gap.”  “Usually when we talk about concurrent credit, career and technical education (CTE), and career and military readiness, we end the conversation with ‘Yes or.’ ‘Yes, you can do this, or you can do that,’” said Collum.  ...

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has reported a preliminary fall enrollment of 2,250 credit students. The growth comes despite financial aid delays due to issues with the new FAFSA form, as well as UACCM transferring to Workday Student, a new student information system.  The 2,250 credit students serve as the highest fall enrollment at UACCM since 2011. “I am so proud of the entire UACCM faculty and staff for their tireless work in overcoming multiple odds this year from standard recruitment competition to the new University of Arkansas systemwide Workday Student implementation, to the Department of Education’s FAFSA revamp disorder. We are better together,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg.  “UACCM is the best community college in the state and showcases daily the very best faculty and staff. We know the names of our students; they are never just a number. A pride point of UACCM is that we are committed to the individual and overall succe...

September Student of the Month: Jasmine Novak

Congratulations to UACCM's September Student of the Month, Jasmine Novak! Jasmine is in her final semester of UACCM's Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree. After graduation, Jasmine plans to continue her education at UACCM and pursue an Associate of Science in Education degree. Jasmine's goal is to transfer to a four-year university to get a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  Jasmine is a first-generation college student and UACCM was the best fit for her because of tuition, proximity, and campus resources.  Jasmine says her favorite things about UACCM are the student and faculty interactions. "Faculty care about students and want them to succeed."  We asked Jasmine if she had any advice for current and future Timberwolves, she said, "Never be afraid to take advantage of campus recourses. The Learning Center, Student Development Office, and Student Success Center are there to help and will never judge you!" Each month...
