Night of Luminaries is Back!

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton invites the community to its Night of Luminaries, Thursday, Dec. 2, following the Morrilton Christmas parade. This free, family-friendly event is expected to start around 6:00 p.m. or as soon as Santa Claus can make his way from the parade to UACCM. The campus will be lined with more than 2,000 luminary bags, decorated by Conway County children, and the community is invited to walk through to view the artwork on the beautifully lit bags. Also enjoy cookies and hot cocoa served by UACCM faculty and staff to all who attend the event.  Participating schools and organizations that helped in decorating luminary bags include Conway County Center for Exceptional Children, Morrilton Primary, Morrilton Elementary, Morrilton Intermediate, Nemo Vista Elementary, Sacred Heart Elementary, Wonderview Elementary, and Riverview Baptist Christian School. Annual 'Links for Learning' Golf Tournament Set for May 23

The 14th annual “Links for Learning” golf tournament will be held Thursday, May 23 at the Morrilton Country Club beginning with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The three-person scramble—sponsored by the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation—is open to the public.  Proceeds from the tournament support UACCM’s special programs and services. With an entry fee for each three-person team of $350, registration includes two mulligans per player, carts, lunch, and gift bags. Prizes will be awarded to players with the longest drive and closest to the pin. The tournament will also feature a Golf Ball Drop contest with a $1,000 prize going to the winning ball in the hole or closest to the pin. The community can be involved in this event by entering the tournament as players, or by donating gift-bag promotional items as sponsors. Sponsors can also promote their businesses by donating door prizes that will be given out during drawings throughout the day.  T...

Holocaust Survivor Will Speak At Morrilton on March 5

Courtesy of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Alfred Munzer.  Holocaust survivor Alfred Münzer will speak at Morrilton as part of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s 11 th annual Holocaust Survivor Series. He will lecture at Morrilton High School’s Devil Dog Arena at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, to secondary students in UACCM’s service area. Later that evening at 6:30 p.m., he will speak again at UACCM’s Fine Arts Auditorium. A question and answer session and photo opportunities will follow the presentations. Both events are free and open to the public. When Alfred Münzer was born in Nazi-occupied Netherlands on November 23, 1941, his parents knew their youngest of three children was entering a dire situation. High School Students, Public Invited To UACCM Career Expo

Workforce Training Center, UACCM Campus The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is hosting a career expo on Thursday, February 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The expo will take place at the Workforce Training Center on UACCM’s campus. The event is free and open to high school students and the general public. From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., high school students from grades 10-12 can explore career and program options with local companies and UACCM staff. Admissions officers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss what the college has to offer. The event is also open to UACCM students and the public from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to meet with representatives from companies across central Arkansas to explore employment opportunities, present their resumes, and have an onsite interview.
