UACCM Announces Plans to Reopen Campus on July 6

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton announced that it plans to reopen campus on Monday, July 6, to the public. This reopening is the next phase—Phase 4—of the college’s plan to bring students back on campus, which will include in-person, online, and hybrid classes in the fall. This plan aligns with the directions of the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas and the Arkansas Department of Health. The resumption of full, in-person operations at UACCM will include a combination of the use of appropriate face coverings among faculty and staff, physical distancing, enhanced cleaning, and modifications of common spaces, including the installation of hand sanitizing stations at entrances and the installation of Plexiglass in high-traffic areas. For the health and welfare of the campus community, students and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear facial coverings. Campus operations will also continue to offer virtual services. UACCM Graduate Eyes a Career in the Classroom

This fall, she plans to transfer to the University of Central Arkansas at Conway to complete her bachelor's degree and teach at the elementary level. Why did you choose to attend UACCM? I chose UACCM because it was a smaller school and seemed to be a close community along with the friendly atmosphere. How did UACCM prepare you for your future career? UACCM prepared me for my future career by not only having the resources available to help me succeed in my classes, but also having some of the best teachers I have ever had. They not only push me as a student but were there to help me succeed in my career plan. What have been your favorite memories of attending UACCM? I loved the fun that we had in some of my classes along with meeting new friends that will help you along the way. What are your plans after graduation? My plans after graduation is to transfer to UCA

Richard Counts Named UACCM’s Academic Affairs Vice Chancellor

Richard Counts, associate vice chancellor of academics at Arkansas State University-Beebe, will serve as UACCM’s vice chancellor for academic affairs. Counts, who has been at ASU-Beebe since 2006, brings experience both as an administrator and faculty member. “I am thrilled to have landed a candidate with his level of academic and administrative experience,” said Willenberg. “Dr. Counts has an in-depth understanding of Arkansas higher education as well as extensive experience with the Higher Learning Commission.
