Ahead of The Game

Local High School Student In Pursuit Of His Degree At UACCM In many ways, Josh Braud is a normal high school senior. He is an active student council member, is involved in competitive cheerleading and other activities, and is ready to graduate and move on to the next phase in his life. He also enjoys scuba diving, bowling, and fishing, just as many other 17-year-olds do. But while most of his fellow seniors at Morrilton High School (MHS) are looking forward to moving on to begin college or step out into the workforce, Braud is focused on continuing his college journey which began nearly a year ago. In fact, he has already graduated from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) with his certificate of proficiency in petroleum technology and is currently in pursuit of his associate’s degree. UACCM Wins Again at Marketing and Public Relations Conference

UACCM Director of Public Relations and Marketing Mary Clark and Graphic Designer Trevor Mize attended the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District IV regional conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming recently. During the conference awards ceremony, UACCM received the Gold Medallion for the Academic Catalog, Division B category. Additionally, UACCM received Bronze Medallions in the categories of Web site Design and Outdoor Advertisement. There were over 350 entries in the Medallion Awards competition this year from the approximately 100 member colleges in District IV, which includes Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.  NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR today has more than 1,500 members from nearly 600 colleges across the United States

UACCM Pageant Winners

The UA Community College at Morrilton Phi Beta Lambda chapter hosted the second annual UACCM Pageant on Saturday, October 11, 2008, in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The pageant was open to current UACCM students and 10 other categories including boys between the ages of birth and 3 years and girls between the ages of birth and 17 years.
