Links for Learning Tournament Cancelled

The UACCM Foundation has announced the cancellation of its annual Links for Learning golf tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was to take place at the Morrilton Country Club in June, with the purpose of raising funds for the college’s programs and services. The event will not be rescheduled in 2020. To safeguard against the spread of COVID-19, UACCM continues to practice social distancing guidelines. “UACCM and the Foundation want to do what is right during this confusing time, and perhaps serve as an example to others in our area,” said Scott McKennon, Foundation Board chair. “There will be a time for celebratory outdoor events soon enough. But we felt that time is not now.” The golf tournament is an integral part of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, McKennon said. Private Scholarship Luncheon

UACCM Foundation Board members and administrative staff, along with private scholarship recipients, gathered at the UACCM Plaza on Tuesday, Nov. 6, to recognize groups and individuals who contribute regularly to the private scholarship program. Over $10,000 in private contributions were made available to assist students with educational costs in the past year through the generosity of this group of donors. UACCM Chancellor Dr. Larry Davis welcomed the group saying, “We appreciate all that you do. You have no idea what a difference your contributions make in the lives of these students.” The luncheon is not only an opportunity to thank scholarship donors but also gives the students an opportunity to understand where these scholarships come from.
