$20,000 Raised During UACCM Car Show and Auction

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Foundation raised a total of $20,000 during the UACCM Car Show and Auction event. All donations and auction proceeds will go to the UACCM Automotive Technology Program. “The funds raised from the car show and auction will directly benefit UACCM students,” said UACCM Development Officer Lauren Bryan. “The Automotive Technology program at UACCM is already a top-tier training facility for students. These funds will ensure that it continues to provide the most relevant and up-to-date training available,” Bryan said. The auction featured a 1957 Triumph TR-3, donated by former UA System President Dr. Donald Bobbitt and his wife Susan and maintained by the UACCM Automotive Technology Program. Registered Nursing Transitions to Independent Program

The Registered Nursing program at University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton is making big steps towards improving and growing. Beginning in January 2023, Registered Nursing will transition from consortium membership to an in-house program taught exclusively by UACCM faculty.  The program has the prerequisite and initial approval of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN), and will receive full approval and licensure from ASBN before the 2023 class graduates.  “UACCM has grown and is now ready to offer its own RN program,” said Darrell Moore, Dean of Health Professions and Natural Sciences. “UACCM sees this program offering as an opportunity to better serve our students as one in a group of up to 48 UACCM students, rather than one of 300-plus in the consortium.” This transformation will have several benefits for incoming RN students.   Your   Continuing Student Onboarding tasks are now available in Workday.    Completing these tasks is an important step and   must be finished before your advising and registration appointment.   If onboarding is not completed, it may delay your ability to register for   Summer and Fall courses. Over $4,500 Raised on UACCM Day of Giving

       The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Foundation raised a total of $4,513 during UACCM Day of Giving on Tuesday. The UACCM Foundation works to remove barriers students may face through a variety of on-campus aid and support. “First and foremost, thank you so much to everyone who generously gave during this event,” said UACCM Development Officer Lauren Bryan. “The funds raised during UACCM Day of Giving not only met the goals we had set, but drastically exceeded them in several cases,” Bryan said. During UACCM Day of Giving, nine specific categories were designated as areas of need, including the Timberwolf Pantry – on-campus stations throughout the campus that provide students with free food and toiletries, and the Student Emergency Fund – a fund that exists to help UACCM students meet unexpected financial needs that may interrupt their education.     Jamie Palm has combined her determination and perseverance with the on-campus aid that UACCM provides to pave the way to a better future. "I notice the Timberwolf pantries everywhere I go. Students don't have to wait, they can grab what they need if they need it," said Jamie.  She continued, "There's been many times that I have gone and grabbed a snack to get through the day. It comes in clutch when my funds are low or I am running in between classes each day."  Another on-campus aid that UACCM offers is the Student Emergency Fund. The Student Emergency Fund exists to help any UACCM student meet a temporary or unexpected financial need to stay in school. "I learned about the Student Emergency Fund right before the big ice storm last month," Jamie said. She continued, "I needed a way to pay for a CPR class.   On March 10, Timberwolves everywhere will unite for one day of giving – a day long giving event that will support UACCM students and programs.  Today, we highlight UACCM student Shelbi Wallace, who learned that being a Timberwolf means that you are never on your own.  "I was so intimidated by having to do college alone. If I had realized all the resources and support available to students at UACCM, I would have started here sooner," said Shelbi. Shelbi notes the benefit of joining student organizations for her future, but notes how the cost to join can deter students from participating.  "I'm joining Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society because I know that group can open doors for me in the future.   On March 10, Timberwolves everywhere will unite for one day of giving – a day long giving event that will support UACCM students and programs.  Today, we highlight UACCM student Jordan Buggs, who has personally benefited from the aid provided by programs at UACCM. “I’ve used both the Student Emergency Fund and the Timberwolf Pantry and they have helped out so much,” said Jordan. The Timberwolf Pantry is a free option for students that is regularly stocked through donation with food and basic hygiene items. There are Timberwolf Pantries located in five buildings on campus. “I am on campus for a long time, and being able to get out of class and stop by the Timberwolf Pantry for a snack really helps,” Jordan said.   “If you have a little extra to spend, it doesn’t hurt to support others,” Jordan said. UACCM RECEIVES SPONSORSHIP FROM WINROCK AUTOMOTIVE

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has received a $150,000 sponsorship of its Automotive Service Technology (AST) lab from the Winrock Automotive Group.    The sponsorship provides the Winrock Automotive Group with naming rights over the AST Lab, while also providing the UACCM program with funding that will allow for the purchase of up-to-date equipment, ensuring that students receive the most relevant, hands-on training available. “This generous gift and naming opportunity is unique in that it represents the shared belief of UACCM and the Winrock Automotive Group in the importance of skilled training and the vocational trades in the state and nation,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg. “This gift provides an opportunity to continue training quality auto technicians at UACCM by providing the latest training equipment and diagnostics necessary for training quality automotive professionals,” she continued.
