UACCM Day of Giving: Shelbi Wallace

 

On March 10, Timberwolves everywhere will unite for one day of giving – a day long giving event that will support UACCM students and programs. 

Today, we highlight UACCM student Shelbi Wallace, who learned that being a Timberwolf means that you are never on your own. 

"I was so intimidated by having to do college alone. If I had realized all the resources and support available to students at UACCM, I would have started here sooner," said Shelbi.

Shelbi notes the benefit of joining student organizations for her future, but notes how the cost to join can deter students from participating. 

"I'm joining Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society because I know that group can open doors for me in the future. People may not realize how big of an impact their donation can make." 

Like those before her, Shelbi has also benefited from the Student Emergency Fund. 

"I have had to borrow money from the Student Emergency Fund for gas to get to school. I'm thankful the Student Emergency Fund can help with the stress of travel so that I can focus on my school work," Shelbi said.

"When you give, you are investing in a student's future. You are investing in their education and where they go after UACCM."  

By participating in UACCM's Day of Giving 2026, you are helping the future.

Several students at UACCM, like Shelbi, are putting forth every effort to succeed each day. These individuals are the ones that will be leaders in the near future. By giving to UACCM and these projects, you are investing in the future of your community, and so many others.

"I notice the Timberwolf pantries everywhere I go. Students don't have to wait, they can grab what they need if they need it," said Jamie.  She continued, "There's been many times that I have gone and grabbed a snack to get through the day. It comes in clutch when my funds are low or I am running in between classes each day."  Another on-campus aid that UACCM offers is the Student Emergency Fund. The Student Emergency Fund exists to help any UACCM student meet a temporary or unexpected financial need to stay in school. UACCM Nursing Continues NCLEX Perfection

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Practical Nursing program has posted a 100 percent pass rate on the most recent round of NCLEX board exams. This is the seventh straight semester of UACCM PN posting a 100% NCLEX pass rate.  Additionally, UACCM Registered Nursing posted a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX exams, giving UACCM RN a 98.9 percent pass rate over the last three years! “This success does not happen by accident,” said UACCM Director of Practical Nursing Angie Moore-Strickland. “These pass rates reflect the hard work of our students, the commitment of our faculty, and the strength of UACCM's nursing programs,” she continued.
