PTK Spring 2007 Induction

The Beta Eta Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton recently inducted 14 new members during a ceremony in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium. New members inducted include Sheila Barr of Oppelo, Dustin Burdin of Damascus, Julie Birkheart of Morrilton, Cassandra Cooper of Conway, Cassidy Garrett of Greenbrier, Aaron Horton of Russellville, Bradley Nelson of Dover, Mandy Patrick of Greenbrier, Stephen Pryor of Conway, William Pryor of Conway, Kurt Reed of Dardanelle, Mina Shewmake of Morrilton, Katherine Simmons of Conway, and Crystal Thatcher of Scotland.  
Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is a prestigious international honor society for two-year colleges. Students who earn a grade point average of 3.50 or better on 12 or more credit hours are invited to join the organization, which emphasizes the hallmarks of leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and service.  
Students who participate in Phi Theta Kappa have the opportunity to join in community service projects. The Beta Eta Sigma members have adopted Bruce Street, which runs in front of the Morrilton campus. Each semester, the organization sponsors a Roadside Cleanup Day, during which members pick up trash along Bruce Street and end the day with a cookout. Additionally, the group uses funds raised throughout the year by their chapter to support other community projects.

Student Onboarding Due March 25

In preparation for Fall 2024 advising & registration, students should log into Workday and complete a series of tasks called Student Onboarding : Students should log in to Workday and complete these tasks:  Navigate to  myapps.microsoft.com  in a web browser.  Log in with your UACCM email and password when prompted. You may also be prompted to authenticate using an authenticator app or secure code.  A dashboard with multiple apps will display. Locate the blue app titled “Workday” and select it.  You are now logged into Workday!  Once logged in, you will do the Federal Student Aid Authorization and then complete My Tasks .  This will include such things editing your contact information (if necessary), editing your personal information (if necessary), adding My Friends and Family (emergency contact information), and other tasks. When entering your My Friends and Family information, you must select Emergency Contact as one of the relationship types or you will get an error message .

UACCM Eclipse Parking

  The following guidelines apply to any vehicles parked on the UACCM campus at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. FOR VISITORS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  Purchase an eclipse parking pass for $100 from the either of the tents located on University Boulevard  (🟧 on map). You are allowed to park anywhere in eclipse parking (blue on map). FOR STUDENTS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  You are allowed to park in eclipse parking (blue on map), free of charge. You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.  FOR STUDENTS CONDUCTING BUSINESS: You may park in the parking lot in front of the UC and BTC (pink on map). You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.

Get to know Miss UACCM 2023

  Earlier this month, Zaybrau Williams, from Dardanelle, was named Miss UACCM in the fifteenth annual Miss UACCM pageant.  Zaybrau was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, Morrilton, and gifts cards from Elia’s Mexican Grill, Morrilton, and Red Barn Market, Conway. Get to know Miss UACCM 2023, Zaybrau Williams, a little more. Why did you choose UACCM? I chose UACCM because of the community size and the various opportunities that are available to me. From being raised in a small community, UACCM felt like home. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming, it made choosing UACCM so easy. What are your educational and career goals? I am majoring in General Education. Once I finish with my associate degree here at UACCM, I plan to attend the University of Arkansas Medical School (UAMS) to further my education in Sonography.
