$15,000 Donated to UACCM Project by Mobley Contractors

Ronnie Mobley, founder of Mobley Contractors, Inc. in Morrilton, has donated $15,000 to the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s clock tower project. GED Night Classes Return to UACCM Adult Ed In Conway

As part of the new program year starting this month, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Adult Education Center in Conway will once again offer night classes for GED students beginning Tuesday, July 10. Night classes will meet from 4:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Interested students are encouraged to schedule an appointment any time during office hours.  All instruction at any UACCM Adult Education Center is free of charge. Each facility offers various programs, including adult basic education, English Language Learners (ESL), college prep, and Workforce Alliance & Growth in the Economy (WAGE) — a series of stackable certifications in partnership with local businesses and industries to prepare participants for workforce careers.  As a reminder for GED students, the GED Exam is only $16, which covers all four tests, and scholarship vouchers are now available to those who qualify. Pauline Cathcart Memorial Scholarship Now Available

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton is now offering the Pauline Cathcart endowed scholarship in memory of the late educator and World War II veteran. This is a $500 scholarship awarded each semester with priority given to students from Pope County and members of Connect Church in Russellville.  Pauline Cathcart Cathcart was born in Russellville on January 2, 1922. Over the next 95 years, she would go on to attend a beautician school, join the Women’s Army Corps, serve in Australia and the Philippines, graduate from Henderson State Teachers College and devote herself to education for 30 years before retiring in 1981. UACCM, UCA Establish 'Bear Partners' Program

$14,000 Raised After 2018 'Links for Learning' Golf Tournament

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation’s 13th annual “Links for Learning” golf tournament raised $14,000 to help fund the college’s facility upgrades, new classroom equipment, professional development and scholarships. 34 teams participated in the fundraiser held May 22 at the Morrilton Country Club. Fourth Annual 'Career Exploration' Set For June 25-28

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s fourth annual Career Exploration event will be held June 25-28 for students who have completed the 8th through 12th grades. Each day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a skyrocketing demand for people with career-specific skills training. Join UACCM faculty and staff on this free, four-day journey where students can explore several exciting possibilities for their futures. Participants will gain hands-on experience and take away valuable skills as they shape their understanding of various career fields. This year’s event will include instruction in Industrial Mechanics & Maintenance, Welding, and Automotive Service technologies. 7th Annual Job Fair, Career Expo at UACCM Adult Education Center in Conway on May 16

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Adult Education Center in Conway will host its 7th annual Job Fair & Career Expo on Wednesday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The facility is located 125 Center Street in Conway. The event will bring more than 25 employers, colleges, and local service stations to conduct on-site interviews, answer questions, accept resumes, and distribute information. There will be a computer lab available with staff on-hand to assist participants with online applications. Representatives from UACCM will also be present to discuss technical programs and the new Workforce Training Center. Country music station Y107 will be broadcasting via live remote to promote community awareness.  This event is free and open to the public.
