$14,000 Raised After 2018 'Links for Learning' Golf Tournament
The
University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Foundation’s 13th annual
“Links for Learning” golf tournament raised $14,000 to help fund the college’s
facility upgrades, new classroom equipment, professional development and
scholarships. 34 teams participated in the fundraiser held May 22 at the
Morrilton Country Club.

Crow Construction– Paul Zimmerman, Jamie Zimmerman, Harold Andrews
2nd place:
Koontz Electric– David Watkins, Johnny Garret, Ted Weisenbach
3rd place:
Jeff Mullen, Mitch Mullen, Mike Roberts
Five side
contests were sponsored by local residents and businesses, including the
Longest Drive contest won by Jordan Bryant. Kevin Talbert won Closest to the
Pin, Wilma Horton won Longest Putt, and Andy Clinkingbeard and Mike Chandler
both won Closest to the Hole. The Golf Ball Drop was won by Morrilton Mayor
Allen Lipsmeyer, who collected $710. Mark Stobaugh won $50 after his ball
landed farthest from the hole after the drop.
The
success of the tournament was made possible by the generosity of the businesses,
