Private Scholarship Luncheon

UACCM Foundation Board members and administrative staff, along with private scholarship recipients, gathered at the UACCM Plaza on Tuesday, Nov. 6, to recognize groups and individuals who contribute regularly to the private scholarship program.

Over $10,000 in private contributions were made available to assist students with educational costs in the past year through the generosity of this group of donors. UACCM Chancellor Dr. Larry Davis welcomed the group saying, “We appreciate all that you do. You have no idea what a difference your contributions make in the lives of these students.”

The luncheon is not only an opportunity to thank scholarship donors but also gives the students an opportunity to understand where these scholarships come from. UACCM Development Officer Morgan Zimmerman said, “It was awesome to see the interaction between the donors and students. Based on the success of this year’s lunch, we plan to make this an annual event!” Zimmerman added, “We hope that by making the private scholarship program more visible, it will encourage others to consider establishing a scholarship at UACCM. It’s a great way to make a difference in the community or even to honor a loved one.”

UACCM would like to thank everyone who helped make this event happen. Special thanks to UACCM Foundation Board members Doug Cahill of Edward Jones Investments and Allen Lipsmeyer of Lipsmeyer’s Daylight Donuts for sponsoring the event. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the UACCM Plaza staff, and UACCM student ambassadors volunteered their time to serve the meal.
