Attorney General Rutledge Visits UACCM

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge visited the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton on August 7 for a roundtable discussion with law enforcement, local and county civil officials, and community leaders.

During her time on campus, UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg guided her on a tour of the Workforce Training Center on campus. The tour included stops in technical labs used by several UACCM academic programs, including auto service technology; air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration; industrial mechanics and maintenance technology; and welding; as well as the Department of Workforce Development and Community Education.

The visit was part of the Rutledge Roundtables, where Rutledge meets with local leaders about issues affecting their communities.

It comes in clutch when my funds are low or I am running in between classes each day."  Another on-campus aid that UACCM offers is the Student Emergency Fund.   On March 10, Timberwolves everywhere will unite for one day of giving – a day long giving event that will support UACCM students and programs.  Today, we highlight UACCM student Shelbi Wallace, who learned that being a Timberwolf means that you are never on your own.  "I was so intimidated by having to do college alone. If I had realized all the resources and support available to students at UACCM, I would have started here sooner," said Shelbi. Shelbi notes the benefit of joining student organizations for her future, but notes how the cost to join can deter students from participating.  "I'm joining Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society because I know that group can open doors for me in the future. UACCM RECEIVES SPONSORSHIP FROM WINROCK AUTOMOTIVE

  The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has received a $150,000 sponsorship of its Automotive Service Technology (AST) lab from the Winrock Automotive Group.    The sponsorship provides the Winrock Automotive Group with naming rights over the AST Lab, while also providing the UACCM program with funding that will allow for the purchase of up-to-date equipment, ensuring that students receive the most relevant, hands-on training available. “This generous gift and naming opportunity is unique in that it represents the shared belief of UACCM and the Winrock Automotive Group in the importance of skilled training and the vocational trades in the state and nation,” said UACCM Chancellor Lisa Willenberg. “This gift provides an opportunity to continue training quality auto technicians at UACCM by providing the latest training equipment and diagnostics necessary for training quality automotive professionals,” she continued.
