High school students, nontraditional students, and their families are invited to the #MoreInMorrilton Information Session, taking place at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton on Saturday, March 14. 

The annual Information Session provides prospective students and the public of all educational backgrounds with the chance to learn about academic programs, financial aid opportunities, and student services. Following a panel of current UACCM students, attendees and their families can visit with faculty from career-specific or transfer-focus programs that interest them most. Areas of interest include:
  • AC, Heating, & Refrigeration Technology
  • Automotive Service
  • Business
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Drafting 
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Education
  • General Education (Transfer Opportunities)
  • Health Related (Nursing & EMT)
  • Industrial Mechanics & Maintenance
  • Math
  • Nutrition
  • Sociology
  • Surveying
  • Welding

"Finding the right fit in a college has such a positive impact on a student’s success,” said Rachel Mullins, director of admissions. “UACCM was the right fit for me, and I do not think I would have been as successful starting college anywhere else. That is why I love this event. It’s not only a great opportunity for people to explore various career options, but also the perfect time to come meet some faculty and staff and just hang out with us. By the end of the day, I think you will know if UACCM is the right fit for you.”

The Information Session also will offer feature campus tours, student life opportunities, and organizations like the Honors Program.

At a free lunch, there will be a drawing for several drawings for $1,000 scholarships courtesy of the Fayetteville Shale Scholarship Fund, Inc. 

Check-in will take place at 9:45 a.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium.

UACCM Sees Largest Fall Enrollment Since 2011

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has reported a preliminary fall enrollment of 2,250 credit students. The growth comes despite financial aid delays due to issues with the new FAFSA form, as well as UACCM transferring to Workday Student, a new student information system.  The 2,250 credit students serve as the highest fall enrollment at UACCM since 2011. “I am so proud of the entire UACCM faculty and staff for their tireless work in overcoming multiple odds this year from standard recruitment competition to the new University of Arkansas systemwide Workday Student implementation, to the Department of Education’s FAFSA revamp disorder. October Student of the Month: Hayden Simpson

Hayden is in his first year at UACCM, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting and Design degree. After graduation, Hayden plans to begin a career in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and hopes to one day return to UACCM to become a professor.   Hayden was homeschooled and says UACCM was the best fit for him because of the motivating atmosphere on campus, smaller class sizes, and affordable tuition.   Hayden says his favorite things about UACCM are the professors and their willingness to help. Many around campus may know Hayden as his other identity: UACCM’s mascot, Wolfie!   Recently Hayden represented UACCM as Wolfie during the Arkansas Razorbacks and UAPB Golden Lions football game at War Memorial Stadium in August.   We asked Hayden if he had any advice for current and future Timberwolves, he said, "Rest in-between classes. Check out the Esports Club in the Fine Arts building and take a well-deserved break.”
