It’s a new semester and a different class schedule for some. For others, welcome week will be their first week at college. But the benefit of attending UACCM is that it’s a supportive community. The faculty and staff want students to succeed.

To make the most of your life at UACCM that combines an unparalleled education, student life, and services, here are a few tips to follow:

Be Active

The first few weeks of the semester are a perfect time to get to know your peers and classmates. There are several ways, and here are a few suggestions. Go to the Student Union, work out at the fitness room, grab a cup of coffee at Big Cuppa (a local coffee shop), join student organizations, and of course, attend social events.

Plus, UACCM students benefit from being located near one of Arkansas’s greatest natural resources: Petit Jean State Park. There’s also convenient access to nearby cities like Little Rock, Conway, and Russellville, so that opens up a slew of possibilities of things to do.

One thing you should always remember is that every student on campus has something in common: your commitment to achieve at college. If you think about it, you are all in this together. This is the time when you can make lifelong friends—you only need to be active to do it.

Download the UACCM App

The App has basically all the information you need, ranging from how to connect with college services, learn more about programs, and stay in the know about campus events and news. Download the app in the Apple App store or Google Play.

Take Advantage of the Library

There’s a saying: “When in doubt, go to the library.”

The Academic Commons is stocked with sources that you'll need, such as interlibrary loan services, computers, studying areas, tutoring services, movies, and more.

Learn the Campus Map

Whether you are new to campus or perhaps taking a class in a different building, it never hurts to have easy access to the campus map. The good news is that you can find it on the website or the app.

Take some time to add your email to your smartphone. It is important to stay updated on everything happening on campus, any updates about deadlines or campus closures, and information from your instructors. You’ll thank yourself later.

Plan Ahead

How can students manage the academic rigor of college with the rest of their life? They can create practices in their life that help them use their time and energy more efficiently. These practices include creating daily to-do lists and study schedules, which will help students stay focused. Then, they can create manageable goals like setting aside 1-2 more hours each night to study.
