Workforce Training Center Nets Construction Award

The Arkansas Chapter of the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) granted an award to Nabholz Construction, recognizing it for the erection of UACCM’s Workforce Training Center. 

The Workforce Training Center—that opened in 2018— houses the Department of Workforce Development and Community Education, and offers technical training in the fields of automotive service; air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration; industrial mechanics and maintenance and welding. Its labs include the most up-to-date equipment, ensuring that students meet current demands of today’s workforce. 
Nabholz Construction earned an Eagle Award, ABC’s highest honor, in the category of higher education within a funding range of $10 to $15 million. The Eagle Award is granted to outstanding projects across the state.

The year's most outstanding students at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton were honored at the Student Recognition Awards Ceremony, an annual gathering of faculty, staff, and families joining students to celebrate their accomplishments. Awards are also given from the UACCM Student Activities, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and other student organizations to outstanding students for their engagement at the college community and organization. Four Decades of Gratitude: Newsome Reflects on 43-Year Career with UACCM

Mary Newsome, Assistant to the Chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) and UACCM’s longest serving employee in the history of the institution, has announced she will retire after 43 years of service on May 7, 2024.  Friends and members of the community are welcome to join in celebrating Newsome and wish her luck in retirement during her retirement party on Friday, May 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Dr. Larry D. Davis Workforce Training Center on the campus of UACCM. “Mary Newsome is the epitome of class, dedication, honor, and loyalty. What’s unique about Mary is that she exemplifies these qualities in all aspects of life and to all with whom she comes into contact. Get to know Miss UACCM 2023

  Earlier this month, Zaybrau Williams, from Dardanelle, was named Miss UACCM in the fifteenth annual Miss UACCM pageant.  Zaybrau was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, Morrilton, and gifts cards from Elia’s Mexican Grill, Morrilton, and Red Barn Market, Conway.
