River Valley Technical Center Students Visit UACCM

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton hosted an Applied Technology Career Fair on February 21, during which approximately 65 students from River Valley Technical Center (RVTC) visited the UACCM campus.  The event served as an opportunity for high school students to learn about the programs available within the college’s Division of Applied Technology, as well as future career opportunities for those who complete a technical certificate or associate degree in the program areas.

High school students who visited UACCM are enrolled at the River Valley Technical Center in the areas of automotive collision, automotive service technology, construction technology, and drafting and design. The RVTC students visited the welding, automotive technology, automotive collision repair, air conditioning and refrigeration, and petroleum technology programs at UACCM.  Current UACCM students served as tour guides for the River Valley students as they visited each of the applied technology programs.
UACCM personnel expressed their gratitude to River Valley Technical Center Director Bruce Bryant as well as the center’s instructors for helping to coordinate the college tour. UACCM Division Chair of Professional Services & Applied Technology Martha Gattin said, “We appreciate the RVTC teachers for encouraging their students to continue their education and providing them the opportunity to explore the applied technical programs at UACCM.”
