A New Scholarship and MAGIC

Looking for a way to pay your spring tuition? Here are a couple of new scholarships that will go to two UACCM students. Check with the UACCM Financial Aid Office in the University Center for more information.
The UACCM Financial Aid Office is currently accepting applications for the Literary Coterie Scholarship. Two scholarships will be awarded for $500 each for the spring 2010 semester to UACCM students. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2010.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:
  • must be a Conway County resident
  • must be enrolled full-time for the spring 2010 semester
  • must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA or better
  • not a prior recipient of this scholarship
The scholarship only covers tuition, fees, and books. Applicants need to complete a UACCM Scholarship Application and write in Literary Coterie as the scholarship being applied for and return it to the Financial Aid Office by February 15.

  1. I would like to know why students who live in counties other than Conway County are not eligable for this scholarship. I hold a 3.5 GPA, I am also a full time student. Personally, having some extra cash could be of great use to me. Due to the fact that students who live further away have to drive a distance, there should be some sort of scholarship or voucher to help us with gas expenses. I could definetly use it.

    Thank you

  2. This particular scholarship is available for Conway County residents only because it is sponsored by the Conway County chapter of the Literary Coterie Club. In most instances, local organizations sponsor students from their service areas.

There are lots of scholarships available for other students...one good resource to look them up is www.fastweb.com. The UACCM Financial Aid Office can also help you find what scholarships you are eligible for. They can help you find privately-funded scholarships that you might not know about otherwise. Stop in and see them anytime.

  3. Thank you for the speedy response. I will definetly look into the website and financial aid information you have provided. Again, thank you.
