UACCM Wins Again at Marketing and Public Relations Conference

UACCM Director of Public Relations and Marketing Mary Clark and Graphic Designer Trevor Mize attended the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District IV regional conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming recently. During the conference awards ceremony, UACCM received the Gold Medallion for the Academic Catalog, Division B category.
Additionally, UACCM received Bronze Medallions in the categories of Web site Design and Outdoor Advertisement. There were over 350 entries in the Medallion Awards competition this year from the approximately 100 member colleges in District IV, which includes Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. 
NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR today has more than 1,500 members from nearly 600 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries. The organization offers a broad range of professional growth opportunities and support services in marketing, public and media relations, community and alumni relations, publications, sports marketing, legislative and governmental relations, special-events coordination, and much more.

Fillippino Named UACCM Dean of General Education

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has named Dr. Tonja Fillippino as its new dean of General Education. Fillippino began her career in 2003 as an assistant professor at Arkansas State University where she was promoted to Associate Professor. She would later be named Coordinator for Teacher Education on the ASU-Beebe campus. Additionally, Fillippino was named Advisor of the Year and Teach of the Year in 2021 for the College of Education and Behavioral Science.  Fillippino earned an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she also received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree. Beck Named Outstanding Alumni of the Year

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is proud to share that Adrienne Beck has been named UACCM Outstanding Alumni of the Year.  Beck’s impressive career includes being accepted in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), fundraising with Heifer International, and working with the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research. Beck was a member of UACCM from August 2007 to May 2009, where she graduated with honors. She received a transfer scholarship to Arkansas Tech University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in May 2011. In May 2016, she graduated from Brandeis University with a master’s degree in public policy.  She says that the American Government class she took at UACCM helped put her on the path she would take in life. “I had always enjoyed history and government, to some extent, but I’m not sure I realized how interested in government I was yet.
