Here is some information on a new scholarship available to UACCM students who qualify. The Arkansas Association for Developmental Education (ArkADE ) is offering (2) $500 Scholarships for the Fall 2011 semester. The minimum qualifications are: - The student must have completed 12 hours of college work with at least 3 hours of developmental education coursework. - Student must have attained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on all coursework completed - Student must be enrolled in an Arkansas higher education institution The students will be chosen based on: - Personal Essay - Scholarship - Written recommendation from a faculty member For more information, contact the UACCM Financial Aid Office DEADLINE: June 15, 2011

The UACCM Foundation’s 6th annual “Links for Learning” golf tournament will be held on Thursday, May 19 at the Morrilton Country Club . The format is a three-person scramble (men’s teams, women’s teams, and mixed teams all welcome), and all teams will tee off at 10:00 a.m. Entry fees are $75 per person or $225 per team. Registration fee includes green fees, cart, lunch, awards ceremony/reception, and goody bag. UACCM/Soundscape Present MAKE 'EM LAUGH! E. E. Cummings once said, “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”   On May 3 rd and May 5 th @7:00 p.m., UACCM Soundscape will give you an opportunity to make the most of your day with their show “Make ‘Em Laugh”.   It will be held at the Leadership Development Institute in downtown Morrilton and will be filled with some of the funniest songs from the Broadway stage from shows such as Annie Get Your Gun, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, 25 th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Wicked , and many more.   Tickets are $10 and will include a spread of “funny foods” for audience members to indulge in.   To purchase your tickets call Janie Wagner at (501)215-4900 or e-mail wagner@uaccm.edu .   Grab a friend and come join in the fun!

The Department of Higher Education unveiled Monday a free smart phone application – the first of its kind with customer service help available via text – for Arkansans to apply for state financial aid and check the status of their awards. It was developed by the Information Network of Arkansas, the agency that develops websites and online applications for other state agencies.   “This smart phone application will allow students to complete the YOUniversal financial aid scholarship application from their iPhone, Android, or other device with a browser,” said Shane Broadway, interim director for ADHE, “as easily as they would on our website.
