UACCM Recognized by Entergy Arkansas for Energy-Efficiency




Through its Entergy Solutions Program, Entergy Arkansas has awarded University of Arkansas Community College of Morrilton (UACCM) $12,082.70 in energy-efficiency incentives for implementation of energy-efficiency projects and operational changes between 2019 – 2022. 

The Entergy Solutions Program provides technical and financial support to help Entergy Arkansas customers identify and implement projects that reduce energy usage. In addition to the incentives, due to the energy efficiency project and operational changes, UACCM has also saved an estimated $40,416.62 in electricity cost savings.

UACCM has also received support through the CitySmart Program, which offers support specifically to institutional and public entities.

The CitySmart Program helps facility supervisors understand the technical and financial benefits of investing in energy efficiency and develop an improvement plan. The program does not prescribe technologies or end uses, but instead provides a framework through which the participants can receive incentives for implementing and installing a wide range of measures at their sites. 

Entergy Arkansas’ Continuous Energy Improvement (CEI) initiative is part of the CitySmart Program. CEI focuses on behavioral and operational changes to improve energy efficiency. As a CEI participant, UACCM is offered personalized, step-by-step guidance, resources, and yearly incentives to embed energy efficiency into its culture.

The year's most outstanding students at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton were honored at the Student Recognition Awards Ceremony, an annual gathering of faculty, staff, and families joining students to celebrate their accomplishments. Every department nominates students to receive awards based on academic excellence in their field of study. Awards are also given from the UACCM Student Activities, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and other student organizations to outstanding students for their engagement at the college community and organization. A student ambassador is also selected as Ambassador of the Year. Four Decades of Gratitude: Newsome Reflects on 43-Year Career with UACCM

Mary Newsome, Assistant to the Chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) and UACCM’s longest serving employee in the history of the institution, has announced she will retire after 43 years of service on May 7, 2024.  Friends and members of the community are welcome to join in celebrating Newsome and wish her luck in retirement during her retirement party on Friday, May 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Dr. Larry D. Davis Workforce Training Center on the campus of UACCM. “Mary Newsome is the epitome of class, dedication, honor, and loyalty. What’s unique about Mary is that she exemplifies these qualities in all aspects of life and to all with whom she comes into contact. Get to know Miss UACCM 2023

  Earlier this month, Zaybrau Williams, from Dardanelle, was named Miss UACCM in the fifteenth annual Miss UACCM pageant.  Zaybrau was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, Morrilton, and gifts cards from Elia’s Mexican Grill, Morrilton, and Red Barn Market, Conway.
