UACCM has offered international travel opportunities for 12 years, and the college is continuing the program with a tour of Spain and Morocco in May 2022.

UACCM students or employees interested in joining a trip of a lifetime can attend any of these interest meetings at the UACCM Library Complex, Room 205:

Wednesday, April 28, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 29, 12:05-12:55 p.m. (X-Period)

The tour will consist of seven overnight stays with a professional tour director through cities like Madrid, Gibraltar, Fes, and Casablanca. The group will visit cultural and historical sites such as the Puerta del Sol, the Rock of Gibraltar, the Volubilis Roman Ruins, the Toledo Cathedral, and more.

At the interest meetings, Lyndsey Daniel, group leader and a college English instructor, will discuss the travel itinerary, the trip’s educational benefits, and the cost of joining. The interest meetings will also cover information for Honor’s Program students about the Honors Global Studies course, which will take place on the tour abroad.

Since 2009, UACCM instructors have led nine tours, touching the lives of the students, staff, faculty, and community members who have gone along for the ride. Past trips included tours of Iceland, Greece, Japan, Peru, Germany, and France and were organized and led by UACCM instructors and experienced educational tour companies.

“For me, the best part of an educational tour is experiencing places through the eyes other travelers,” said Daniel. “Travelers realize quickly how much we have in common with people from different cultures. Also, I have seen the adventure of international travel build confidence and life-long friendships.”
