Prospective students and their families are invited to the More in Morrilton Information Session, which will be hosted by the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Admissions Office on Saturday, March 13.

The annual preview event, altered this year to allow social distancing, is a chance for prospective students of all educational backgrounds to learn about the college’s academic programs and get a glimpse of student life.

“Finding the right fit in a college has such a positive impact on a student’s success,” said Rachel Mullins, director of admissions. “UACCM was the right fit for me, and I do not think I would have been as successful starting college anywhere else. That is why I love this event. It’s not only a great opportunity for people to explore various career options, but also the perfect time to come meet some faculty and staff and just hang out with us. By the end of the day, I think you will know if UACCM is the right fit for you.”

Along with learning about the college's campus, financial aid and support services, a student panel will discuss their experiences at UACCM. The panel will be made up of UACCM student ambassadors, who work in the Admissions office and conduct tours.

Following the opening session, faculty members from each program will be present to offer insight in their academic programs. Additionally, students will have a chance to win one of three $1,000 scholarships courtesy of the Fayetteville Shale Scholarship Fund, Inc. A session about financial aid and high school concurrent enrollment will also be available.

The college will use its ample space to spread guests out, Mullins said. Participants, who will be screened upon entry, will separate into the Workforce Training Center and the Fine Arts Auditorium. Afterwards, faculty members will lead presentations about their specific programs in breakout sessions made up of smaller groups.

The Information Session is scheduled to begin with check-in, 9:00 a.m., at the Workforce Training Center followed by the opening session about the campus at 9:30 a.m. Advance registration for the event is required to ensure space is available, which can be done at the UACCM website.
