Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts are helpful and empowering to students. When working on a paper or some other assignment, there are times when a simple sequence of keys make work go easier. Macs and PCs both have an array of shortcuts, which all students need to know to make the most of their keyboard:

 

PC Keyboard Shortcuts

The most common shortcuts:

Ctrl + X: Cut the selected item.

Ctrl + C: Copy the selected item.

Ctrl + V: Paste the selected item.

Ctrl + Z: Undo an action.

Ctrl + A: Select all items in a document or window.

Mac Keyboard Shortcuts

Command + XCut the selected item.

Command + CCopy the selected item.

Command + VPaste the selected item.

Command + ZUndo an action. In some apps, you can undo and redo multiple commands.

Command + ASelect all items in a document or window.
