UACCM Workforce Development & Community Education Offers Virtual Classes Through Ed2Go

Offering more online learning options, the UACCM Workforce Development and Community Education department is offering dozens of community education courses through ed2go.com. Ed2go offers online programs designed specifically to expand skills, either to build a professional credential or learn a new hobby. Dozens of courses are available and can be self-paced or instructor-led, including subjects like business, design, health care, and language.

Instructors are teaching exclusively through online learning and come from around the country.

 

What classes are included?

Open to all, courses are offered in a variety of areas, including accounting, business, design, health care, language, and service and hospitality.

Below are some examples of classes:

Become a Veterinary Assistant: If you have ever considered a career as a veterinary assistant, you might have quite a few questions about what it is they do: What vaccinations do cats and dogs need? What is the best way to control fleas? What do you do if your dog has a cut? What is the best way to deal with an emergency situation involving a pet? This course answers these questions and more.

Drawing for Absolute Beginners: If you've always been interested in drawing but don't really know how to get started, then this is the course for you. Gain a solid foundation and understanding of the basics of drawing and become the artist you've always dreamed you could be!

Get Grants: Whether you're interested in writing grant proposals as a career or in obtaining funding for your organization, this course will give you the grant-writing skills you need to outshine your competition. Highly recommended for development professionals, educators, nonprofit agency staff members or volunteers, and anyone else involved in fundraising for a large or small organization.

Introduction to Photoshop CC: Photoshop CC has a host of impressive new features for photographers, and you will encounter a number of them in an introduction to the Photoshop environment. Next, you will learn how to create simple digital paintings. Then you will be editing your own photographs to get rid of dust and scratches, fix the color, and correct image exposure. You will master techniques for switching the backgrounds on images and removing wrinkles and blemishes from photos, just like they do in magazines.

Speed Spanish: Imagine yourself speaking, reading and writing Spanish. Now you can with Speed Spanish! This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn Spanish pronto. You'll learn six easy recipes for gluing Spanish words together to form sentences. In no time at all, you'll be able to go into any Spanish speaking situation and converse in Spanish. ¡QuĂ© Bueno!

Writing for Children: You will explore the changing world of children's literature and understand the various formats, including picture books, chapter books, and middle grade or young adult novels. You will get insights from publishing professionals to gain a better understanding of the needs of today's market. You will receive valuable tips about creating your manuscript, and even practice writing a query letter to submit to a publisher. By the time you finish this course, you will have all the tools and resources you need to begin navigating the world of children's publishing and to continue growing as a writer for children.

Ed2Go works like an online store. Simply browse through the courses, add a course to the cart, and check out. Students can create an account at the checkout with a user name and password, so they can log back in and keep track of the classes taken.
