Beginning on Monday, August 24, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s Faulkner County Adult Education Center will open its doors for instruction at a new facility in Conway. The center has relocated at 1070 Markham Street, next to Larry’s Pizza, and offers a variety of services for the public.

All instruction at the Faulkner County Adult Education Center is free of charge, including preparation for students taking the GED Exam. The exam is only $16, which covers all four tests, and scholarship vouchers are now available to those who qualify. Students may also be eligible for vouchers to cover all costs for the GED Practice Tests. Students who complete the GED program will receive a tuition waiver scholarship for a three-hour college class at UACCM.

Among its other programs, UACCM Adult Education covers college prep, adult basic education, and Workforce Alliance & Growth in the Economy (WAGE) — a series of stackable certifications in partnership with local businesses and industries to prepare participants for workforce careers. The facility also offers a robust English as a Second Language (ESL) program that serves a diverse native-language population and welcomes learners from all countries.

The new center provides benefits to Faulkner County’s population. Centrally located near downtown Conway, the Adult Education Center is easily accessed from several residential and commercial areas. The facility includes classrooms, computer stations, as well as ample space to learn productively with physical distance.

UACCM Adult Education Centers serve anyone 18 years of age or older, and students can start classes at any time throughout the year. To ensure the health and safety of the Adult Education community, employees, students, and visitors are required to wear face coverings inside the facility. Those who do not have a covering will be provided one upon entry.
