The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton announced that it plans to reopen campus on Monday, July 6, to the public. This reopening is the next phase—Phase 4—of the college’s plan to bring students back on campus, which will include in-person, online, and hybrid classes in the fall. This plan aligns with the directions of the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas and the Arkansas Department of Health.

The resumption of full, in-person operations at UACCM will include a combination of the use of appropriate face coverings among faculty and staff, physical distancing, enhanced cleaning, and modifications of common spaces, including the installation of hand sanitizing stations at entrances and the installation of Plexiglass in high-traffic areas. For the health and welfare of the campus community, students and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear facial coverings.

Campus operations will also continue to offer virtual services. Students can connect with various offices online through emailing or calling the various campus operations. The contact information is on the college website.

Since June 15, UACCM has been open on an appointment-only-basis, where students could meet with various departments like Admissions and Financial Aid; other campus facilities, like the college’s daycare services, reopened on a limited basis. Common areas, such as the Student Union and Fitness Center, remains closed. Instruction for the Summer II session is online only.

According to the reopening plan:

“Our knowledge of the novel Coronavirus continues to evolve each day. Equally dynamic, our campus leaders will be required to continuously monitor and analyze the guidance we receive and modify our plans accordingly.”

The college encourages every member of the campus community to be flexible and adopt social distancing practices in order to protect the health of every member of the community. UACCM will provide updates as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. The reopening plan is available at uaccm.edu.
