UACCM Celebrates Women's History Month with Speaker
Diana Arn, vice chancellor for academic services, will speak
at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton on Wednesday,
March 11 as part of the “Talks, Thoughts, and Treats” Speaker Series. The
public is invited to attend the free event marking Women’s History Month that
will take place at 12:00 PM at the UACCM Student Union.
In 2020, Arn announced her retirement from the position of
vice chancellor effective at the end of the spring semester. As she’s
concluding her distinguished career, she will speak about her time at UACCM and
her military service. She will also speak about her personal story that
coincides with an effort among women in higher education to break gender
barriers in leadership.
Arn has 33 years of experience at UACCM, including a recent
stint when she served as interim chancellor before the appointment of
Chancellor Lisa Willenberg. A U.S. Army veteran, Arn joined the college in July
1987 as a business education instructor. In 2002, she became division chair of
humanities, social sciences, and mathematics, then was vice chancellor starting
in 2008. She also has notable experience sitting on committees.
She
received her M.S.E. in Business Education at the University of Central
Arkansas. Prior to that, she earned a bachelor’s degree at Harding University
and an associate degree at Arkansas State University-Beebe.
The event is sponsored by the college’s Diversity and
Inclusion Committee. A light lunch will be served at the presentation.
