The Academic Commons, online

As you work to complete your course work online, the staff of the Academic Commons would like to remind you of the robust services we offer online. The staff of the Academic Commons is prepared to support you whether you are visiting campus, or completing your coursework online.

This will highlight some existing resources and introduce some new services such as online tutoring with our Writing and Math Tutors.

Operating Hours
Monday - Friday
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

The UACCM Campus, including the Academic Commons, will be closed March 23 - March 27 for Spring Break.

The Library, online

Did you know that the E Allen Gordon Library offers over 200,000 ebooks online that can be accessed from anywhere? Well, it does!

The library’s collection is not just limited to items found within the building. In fact, the library’s online collection is four times larger than the print collection. Every service that the library offers on-campus can also be utilized online.

eBook Library — 200,000 items wherever you are!

The eBook library can be accessed by clicking on the links available here. If you are off-campus, simply log-in with your UACCM username and password. A tutorial video is included to help you understand how to search, cite and access eBooks online.

Streaming Media — Think Netflix for Class
Much like the eBook collection, our online streaming media (films, lectures, tutorials) collection includes over 60,000 educational films created by reputable agencies or institutions of higher education.

Access the collection online here and click on Academic Video Online. Log in with your UACCM user ID and password to begin browsing.

Research Databases — Hundreds of thousands of research articles at your fingertips
Have a research paper due and need scholarly peer-reviewed sources or reference materials?
Gordon Library offers 38 databases that each provide access to hundreds of thousands of articles, dissertations, studies and other research resources. Access an alphabetized list that includes descriptions of what topics are covered in the databases here.

Research Guides — Custom resource lists for your courses
If you’ve ever met with a Librarian for assistance with your research, you know how helpful it can be to have an expert recommend resources specific to your assignment or course. This service is available online, too! Research Guides are created considering the objectives of your course, and the requirements of your assignments. Our Research Guides, or libguides, are available online through the Academic Commons website. Your instructor may have even linked one through your Blackboard course page!

Guides are organized by topic, course, or assignment type. Need assistance with MLA formatting? We’ve got a guide! Need assistance with finding resources on Child Development? There’s a guide! Need help understanding formulas in your physical science course? Guess what. There’s a guide!
