UACCM Hosts Community Reception for Chancellor Willenberg

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton held a community reception for Lisa Willenberg, the new chancellor, at the Workforce Training Center. An estimated 250 people attended, including elected officials, community members, and leaders of Arkansas higher education, to offer their best wishes to Chancellor Willenberg.

Willenberg took helm of the college at the beginning of November after a nationwide search to select the college’s fourth chancellor since its establishment as a vocational-technical school in 1963. She is the first woman to hold the role and took over after a 27-year career at UACCM, beginning as a general accountant.

Among the 250 guests that packed the lobby of the Workforce Training Center included Willenberg’s family, members of the UACCM Board of Visitors and the UACCM Foundation Board, current and former UACCM employees, numerous college presidents and chancellors, and community members of Conway County. State Senator Mark Johnson presented Willenberg with an Arkansas Senate Medallion Coin to mark the beginning of her tenure. University of Arkansas System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt and staff took photos with her.

However, two of the most heartening moments occurred when previous UACCM chancellors—Nathan Crook and Dr. Larry Davis—arrived to offer their best wishes. Each talked to her about the job and congratulated her on her new role.
