College Celebrates National Campus Safety Awareness Month
Events, demos,
and special guests are planned throughout the month of September for National Campus Safety Awareness Month. All events are free and open to UACCM students
and employees. Participants at demos will get a chance to win prizes.
Sign up for the
UACCM Emergency Alert System on the Portal and complete your mandatory Title IX
training online by September 30 for a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card.
The following events will take place in September:
Emergency Preparedness
Demo, September 5 (12:15-12:45): The demo will include info on how Campus Police will react
during emergency situations, and they’ll give tips for students, instructors,
and staff in those situations as well.
Pizza with the
Police, September 9 (Starting at 5:30 p.m.): Free pizza with your Campus Police
officers in the University Center Lobby until supplies run out.
Coffee with the
Cops, September 11 and September 24 (Starting at 7:30 a.m.): Free donuts &
coffee with your Campus Police officers in the University Center Lobby (September 11) and the Library Complex (September 24) until
supplies run out.
Meet Thor: K-9
Officer Demo, September 11 and September 12 (12:15 to 12:45 p.m.): Presented by
Sgt. Andy Force of the Morrilton Police Department in the Student Union.
Constitution
& Kona with the Cops, September 17 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Free pocket constitutions
and Kona Ice with Campus Police officers in the Student Union Courtyard.
Self-Defense
Demo, September 18 and September 19 (12:15 to 12:45): Brian and Cora Wilson of
Forca Martial Arts & Fitness will do a presentation at the Student Union.
Fall Fest,
September 25 (10:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.): Enjoy games with students at the
Student Union Courtyard. Use the UACCM app to vote on the theme by September 9.
