16 students from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton competed against their peers in the state SkillsUSA competition at the Hot Springs Convention Center April 10-11, bringing home three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
Logan Killer of Dover, Roberto Guevara of Dardanelle, and Allan Liesche of Damascus all won gold in their respective categories: technical drafting, collision repair technology, and architectural drafting. The two-day event comprised several other competitions, including welding, welding fabrication, pipe welding, and automotive refinishing technology.

“When a student wins gold at the state competition, they are eligible to attend the national competition, which will be held in Louisville, Ky. this year,” Kristen Leger, a UACCM drafting instructor and SkillsUSA advisor, said. “We’re extremely proud of all of our competitors and we wish them well at the national competition.”
