Arkansas Adult Education Hosts "Arkansas' Night In"
Arkansas Adult
Education will host Arkansas’ Night In, a simultaneous open house at its 36
adult education centers around the state to raise awareness about adult
education programs and the success of those who have graduated. UACCM Adult
Education staff will be at three of the college’s four locations from 5-7 p.m.
on Nov. 8 to discuss the programs and services offered at each facility. This
event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
More than 35
million American adults struggle to read, write, do math, and use technology
above a third-grade level. In Arkansas, 18 percent of the population need adult
education and training. Adult education graduates are more likely to be
employed full-time and minimum wage workers increased wages by 18-25 percent
within 18 months of exiting an adult education program.
