$49,600 Gift Granted to Building Project by Halter's Body Shop, Stover Living Trust

David Halter of Halter’s Body Shop in Conway, along with Danny and Delene Stover of Plumerville, have jointly committed a $49,600 gift to name a classroom in the upcoming Workforce Training Center at UACCM.

The gift was made through The Stover Living Trust in memory of Charles Stover — the late son of Danny and Delene, as well as a long-time employee at Halter’s Body Shop and a UACCM alumnus.

“Charles Stover was one of the most dedicated, hard-working employees we’ve had at Halter’s Body Shop,” Halter said. “We were fortunate to have had him as a part of our team for nearly 19 years. Giving to this building project in his memory is just one way we can honor his dedication and love for the automotive repair industry. He left huge shoes to fill, and we feel his absence every day.”

Ground work on the estimated 53,000-SF Workforce Training Center is expected to begin in October and should be completed, if the weather allows, as soon as the end of December. The new facility will house many of the college’s existing technical programs, including automotive service technology; welding; industrial mechanics and maintenance technology; and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology. An open space for workforce training will also be included in the facility for use in recruiting new industries to the area, as well as assisting current industries with workforce development needs.
