FREE Career Exploration events happening this summer!

FOR ADULTS LOOKING FOR CAREER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Participants will rotate through all of the following programs of study during this FREE workshop:
  • Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration- Learn how to properly read, review, and draw a schematic before demonstrating your wiring skills on a practice board.
  • Automotive Collision Repair- By experimenting with mixing ratios and toners, you will discover how to create an automotive color.
  • Automotive Service Technology- While building a remote control car, you will experiment with basic parts replacement and learn about ratios used in transmissions.
  • Business – Accounting, Business Office Technology, and Retail Marketing- You will enhance your critical thinking and entrepreneurial skills while participating in the creation of a business simulation.
  • Computer Information Systems Technology- After you completely disassemble a personal computer, you will race against the clock to reassemble the pieces into a working machine before the buzzer sounds.
  • Drafting- You will construct a variety of 3D objects using AutoDesk Revit and AutoDesk Inventor software.
  • Health Professions – EMT, Nursing Assistant, Practical and Registered Nursing- By observing various nursing classes, you will become acquainted with the variety of health-related programs offered at UACCM.
  • Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology- After you analyze safety hazards related to working with electrical equipment, you will use a live computer program to experiment with Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Petroleum Technology- During the hands-on stainless steel tubing bending class, you will use crescent wrenches, tube benders and stainless steel fitting devices while your critical thinking skills are being challenged.
  • Surveying- In addition to learning how a GPS system works, you will gain hands-on experience while using surveying equipment to measure angles and distances.
  • Welding- You will develop the basic proficiencies with oxy-fuel cutting and plasma systems while you cut a small metal logo during the hands-on welding session.

  • Welding- You will develop the basic proficiencies with oxy-fuel cutting and plasma systems while you cut a small metal logo during the hands-on welding session.
