UACCM RECEIVES NAEYC ACCREDITATION

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton was awarded continued Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation for its Early Childhood Development program. The accreditation is awarded by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Accredited programs align learning experiences and assessments with national standards and use student performance data to improve teaching and learning. Accreditation is awarded to associate degree programs that demonstrate evidence of meeting the Professional Preparation Standards.

Margie Fillinger, Early Childhood Development Instructor at UACCM, said, “This accreditation means a lot for our program. It shows students and prospective students that UACCM is committed to meeting the highest quality of education standards.”

NAEYC is the professional organization that sets national standards for programs that prepare early childhood teachers of children from birth through age 8.
