Step Up to Employment, Nov. 7

Have you registered for Step Up to Employment?

The event, held from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, is limited to 175 students. Technical and trade students graduating in the fall 2012 or spring 2013 are eligible to participate. There will be break-out sessions where students can get in-depth information and instruction in resume writing, cover letter creation, interviewing tips, and more.

Guest speakers for the day include representatives from Hewlett Packard, Crafton Tull, Southwestern Energy, Acxiom, AJ Collision Repair, St. Vincent Hospital, Department of Human Services, and Liberty Tax Service.

Remember that many businesses that specialize in a specific industry often need employees to handle operations outside of their specialties, such as Human Resources personnel, Health and Safety instructors, administrative assistants, and computer technicians. There will be something for everyone at the Step Up to Employment event.
