Theatre Department To Present One-Acts Plays

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Theatre Department will present “A Festival of One-Acts,” five one-act plays written by former and present UACCM students. The plays will be presented in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday, October 11; Friday, October 12; Saturday, October 13; and Sunday, October 14. Performances begin at 7 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and at 2 pm on Sunday afternoon.

These short plays include Fresh Horses by Samuel Denning, Kaylynn Link, Todd Marston, and Robin Smith; Whipped by Jace Stephens; Playing Pretend by Shane Himes, Ryan Shirley, Olivia Via, and Kyle Zinno; Everywhere But Outer Space by Allison Muller; and The Principles of Poker by Shelly Norris.

Seventeen actors will portray characters in the production. UACCM theatre instructor Jim Harris, who is directing the plays, says UACCM is one of the few colleges that has produced works by its own students.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact instructor Jim Harris at (501) 977-2118 or harris@uaccm.edu.
