UACCM Theatre presents "The Mirrorman"

The UACCM Theatre presents, The Mirrorman, a highly interactive and exciting theatrical experience especially created for children grades kindergarten through 3rd grade. The play, written by Brian Way, will be performed Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26 in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium. Both performances begin at 2 pm and are 45 to 50 minutes in length.

The premise of the play involves the Toymaker, who has created a most unusual doll that, with the audience's help, can walk and talk. The Toymaker and his doll are swept into a series of adventures by the Toymaker's reflection in the mirror -- The Mirrorman, who needs help to protect his book of spells and magic from a witch who would conquer the world behind mirrors. The happy conclusion to this internationally acclaimed, hugely popular classic is one that involves the continuous, enthusiastic participation of the audience.
The cast includes Olivia Via of Conway as the Witch, Rabekah Fendley of Russellville as Beauty, Linnea Munch Stephens of Conway as the Toymaker, and Michael E. Johnson of Morrilton as the Mirrorman. In addition to the campus performances, the troupe will also be taking the show to local elementary schools for four to five performances.
The performances are free and open to the public. For more information, contact UACCM theatre instructor Jim Harris at harris@uaccm.edu or (501) 977-2118.
