They Can't Take That Away From Me!

UACCM's pop/jazz vocal ensemble, Soundscape, is proud to introduce the Salon Series. This will be a series of four performances throughout the year that will each focus on a particular composer or theme.
The Salon Series will kick off on September 30 at 7:00 p.m. with “An Evening with Gershwin.” The evening will feature some of George Gershwin’s most beloved hits including “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “Summertime”, “I Got Rhythm”,” Swanee”, “They All Laughed”, “They Can’t Take That Away from Me” and many more! Tickets for this event are $10 and will include light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are available at the UACCM Leadership Development Institute at 115 East Broadway (Hwy 64). Individuals may purchase season tickets for $35.
Additional performances include November 29-“An Evening with Irving Berlin”; March 3rd-“Songs of The Rat Pack”; and May 5th-“Make ‘Em Laugh: Songs to Tickle your Funny Bone.

Beck Named Outstanding Alumni of the Year

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is proud to share that Adrienne Beck has been named UACCM Outstanding Alumni of the Year.  Beck’s impressive career includes being accepted in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), fundraising with Heifer International, and working with the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research. Beck was a member of UACCM from August 2007 to May 2009, where she graduated with honors. She received a transfer scholarship to Arkansas Tech University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in May 2011. In May 2016, she graduated from Brandeis University with a master’s degree in public policy.  She says that the American Government class she took at UACCM helped put her on the path she would take in life. “I had always enjoyed history and government, to some extent, but I’m not sure I realized how interested in government I was yet. Fillippino Named UACCM Dean of General Education

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) has named Dr. Tonja Fillippino as its new dean of General Education. Fillippino began her career in 2003 as an assistant professor at Arkansas State University where she was promoted to Associate Professor. She would later be named Coordinator for Teacher Education on the ASU-Beebe campus. Additionally, Fillippino was named Advisor of the Year and Teach of the Year in 2021 for the College of Education and Behavioral Science.  Fillippino earned an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she also received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree.
